Field trips for 2016: Last trip was April 3 to Split Rock. Five of us stayed relatively free of ticks and weather was great. See above photos. One partial fish was found and a number of leaves.
Next Trips: Thursday April 21st to Red Point on Kamloops Lake, weather permitting (dry conditions required). Meet at the Tank Farm parking area just beyond the Airport turnoff on Tranquille Road; depart from there at 9:00 AM. Light hammer and chisel; Eocene shale, fish and vegetation. Very rough road (carpooling). -
Saturday April 23rd to Pinantan Lake (and possibly beyond). Meet at the Husky Station on Highway 5 North (Paul Lake turnoff) for a planned departure at 9:00 AM. Parking for those who will carpool and leave their vehicles can be at the Husky station (pay) or along the Paul Lake road, Heavy hammer and chisel. Limited material (Permian crinoids).
